Wow! Seamless transition and an update on my review

I purchased this camera to transition to a DSLR camera with the ability to fall back on auto settings if I fail to follow through on learning to use manual/semi-manual settings. It does not disappoint. It was easy to use right out of the box; set up was a breeze. Battery life is a disgrace but per all the reviews I knew that going in. I've already purchased a macro lens and couldn't be happier! Also, shutter response is blazing fast except at low light or flash with red eye. Pricey but with it!!!UPDATE!!! I've dropped my rating from 5 to 4 stars. When installing the new filmware update, my motherboard fried, even though I followed the directions EXACTLY. I had to pay, with insurance, $30 and change to ship it insured, under insured at that. I got it back about 1 1/2 weeks later with no charge and guess what, they didn't install the new filmware. Bummer since it is required to get full functionality of D-Range and a couple of other functions. I'm terrified to try again and am beginning to wish I had bought the camera locally at a camera shop where I could get personal service.
